Vision Statement:
In partnership with the community whom we serve and protect, all the men and women of the West Dundee Police Department shall aspire to perform our duties based on the six pillars of Dedication, Accountability, Respect, Integrity, Courage and Honor.

In partnership with the community, we serve to protect life and property, prevent crime, maintain order, and enforce the laws with integrity and professionalism.

Operations:
The Police Department provides 24-hour protection for residents, businesses and the thousands of visitors and patrons who support West Dundees business community. The West Dundee Police Department is a proactive agency that works collaboratively with the community to make West Dundee a safe place to live, work and visit.
Officer are dispatched to calls for service by the QuadCom Regional Dispatch Center located in Carpentersville. This center is a 9-1-1 emergency dispatch system which serves 5 police agencies and 4 fire agencies. On average, the Department receives approximately 8,000 calls for service throughout the year.

In addition to the regular law enforcement activities, the Police Department offers the following programs:


Red Light Photo Enforcement Program

The Village of West Dundee maintains two Red Light Cameras, at Route 31 & Boncosky Road, and at Route 31 & Route 72. For more information about the program, as well as the most recent crash statistics for these intersections, please visit the Budgets & Reports page.

The Red Light Photo Enforcement Program is administered by a third-party entity, RedSpeed USA. Every potential violation that is captured on camera is reviewed by a West Dundee Police Officer to determine whether or not a violation is issued. If a violation is issued, that same video clip is made available to view online. The violation number and license plate or violation PIN are needed to view such video. Video can also be reviewed with an officer upon request.

Violation payments cannot be made directly to the Village of West Dundee. Payment options are as follows:

  • TO PAY ONLINE: Visit www.redlightviolations.com to make a credit card payment*.
  • TO PAY BY PHONE: Call 1-866-562-3684 between 9am and 4pm (CST) Monday through Friday to make a credit card payment*.
*A $3.50 e-payment convenience fee will be added to credit card payments.

  • TO PAY BY MAIL: Fill in the Pay circle on the violation notice received and mail it with a check or money order, payable to Village of West Dundee Photo Enforcement Program. Mail payment to: Photo Enforcement Program, PO Box 577, Bedford Park, IL 60499-0577. Include the violation notice number on your payment.

How to Pay a Red Light Fine
Violation payments cannot be made directly to the Village of West Dundee. Payment options are as follows:

TO PAY BY PHONE: Call 1-866-562-3684 between 9am and 4pm (CST) Monday through Friday to make a credit card payment*.

*A $3.50 e-payment convenience fee will be added to credit card payments.

TO PAY BY MAIL: Fill in the Pay circle on the violation notice received and mail it with a check or money order, payable to Village of West Dundee Photo Enforcement Program. Mail payment to: Photo Enforcement Program, PO Box 2525, Decatur, IL 62525-1866. Include the violation notice number on your payment.

Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
All requests under the Freedom of Information Act will be processed according to 5 ILCS 140.  The Police Department will respond to a request within five business days as required by The Freedom of Information Act.
