Due to increasing age and deterioration of the Village’s water meters, the Village President and Board of Trustees have approved a program that will replace this important equipment on a Village-wide basis. The project is expected to begin in mid-March of 2023 and be fully completed by October 2023.
The Village solicited competitive proposals for contractual installation of the water meters and awarded a Contract to Water Services Company of Elgin, IL who submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid. Water Services Co. has over two decades of experience conducting large-scale water meter installations of this kind with a consistently excellent service record. The contractor is proficient not only in meter installations, but also in the customer-focused approach necessary to complete a project of this size smoothly.
Professional installers employed by Water Services Co. will visit every private residence and business within the corporate boundaries of West Dundee to facilitate replacement of the water meters. Their friendly administrative staff will contact each resident and business owner ahead of time to schedule appointments in a manner that accommodates individual schedules to the greatest extent possible.
For your safety and security, all Water Services Co. personnel involved in home/business visits are required to successfully pass a full criminal background check facilitated by the West Dundee Police Department, utilizing local, State and Federal criminal databases. Each installer will be required to wear a uniform with clear Water Services Co. branding, carry a temporary Village-issued ID card and have vehicle placards that indicate they are a “Village-Approved Contractor”. For all residents and business owners willing to provide an email address at the time of scheduling, Water Services Co. will send an email with the name and photo of the specific employee coming to conduct the work prior to the appointment.
For the purpose of safeguarding residents and businesses from potential fraud, it is important to note that at no time will a member of the Village staff or approved Village contractor show up unannounced and request access to your dwelling to conduct water meter installations. You will be contacted ahead of time to schedule an appointment on a date and time you are aware of and consent to.
