Village Blood Drive

Did you know that donating just one unit of blood can help 3 people in need of blood. Please consider donating blood to help those in need.

The Village of West Dundee is sponsoring a blood drive with Heartland Blood Centers on Tuesday, July 14 from 3-7pm at Spring Hill Mall. The blood drive will be located in Suite 1450, an inline store location in the Sears Wing.

Blood donations given through Heartland Blood Centers are provided specifically to hospitals in Illinois and Indiana. Eligible donors can give blood every 56 days, and the whole process takes about 45 minutes.

Blood donors are the core of this event. We invite all those eligible to give blood to help those in need. Click here for online registration, or contact Kim at Village Hall to schedule a donation time. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Tail Waggin' Tuesdays

5:00PM at The Depot, 319 N River St, East Dundee

Tail Waggin’ Tuesdays is a monthly Discover Dundee event all about dogs, featuring canine-focused vendors, demonstrations and entertainment. These events take place at The Depot on 319 N. River St., from 5 until dusk, June-September.

In July, the theme is French Bastille Days and will include a pet parade. The theme in August is a salute to Police K9 Units including a demonstration, and lastly in September, the theme is Dundee Heritage - German, Irish & Scottish. Northern Kane Fest

The Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. To celebrate, the Chamber is hosting the Northern Kane Fest on the Fox on Saturday, July 18, 11am-6pm, at the northeast Otto Engineering Parking Lot. The event will include live music, an assortment of area food and business vendors, local artists, a beer garden, pony rides at Triangle Park, and other family activities. Each event features six different wines. All wines tasted are available for purchase, or sample 3 wines for $5. Valid IDs are required for those wishing to taste featured wines. June will feature wines of South America, July will feature West Coast wines, Italian wines in August and ending with wines from Europe in September.

Art classes by Artisticology, and other art-related vendors, are also included. All are welcome to create a masquerade mask to be worn at a Masquerade Ball at The Depot on Saturday, Oct. 31. For more information, contact Karen Blair at the Village of East Dundee.

Earth Day, Every Day Community Gardening Project

Volunteer assistance is requested on Saturday, August 22 from 9 am - 12 pm as we celebrate the spirit of Earth Day with our final community gardening event of 2015.

Join us as we work to spruce up our public landscape in time for Heritage Fest. The meeting location will be provided at a later date (likely Village Hall, 102 S. Second St.)

Registration begins at 8:30 am. Bring your family, friends and neighbors for a fun day of service to beautify our community!
